I recently purchased a 37" woodlathe. I
shall be attempting to make some toys for a local children's
home. The children are thrilled I am finally going to make
them something. Thank you for the three long chisels, they
will give me a start. God Bless you all. |

Hello Sarah. You are a luv. Just returned from
Hong Kong and Singapore. Parcel left with a neighbour from
Clarkes with a replacement part. I presume you are up to your
altrustic tricks. Thanks love for trying. Unfortunately I
have dumped the offending machine as Clarkes did not respond
to my requests to uplift it. The part they have sent is the
wrong one - but will be useful as a toll support in my workshop.
Thanks again Sarah for doing your best without good backup.
If Clarkes do get their finger out - let me know and maybe
I can have another go ! |

I just returned home today, having been away
on a training course to find it has arrived! I haven't opened
it yet - but I am VERY, VERY pleased with the speed of delivery
and discretion with both the packaging and the emails. Well
done !!! My husband will be surprised. |

I think you are fantastic. I'm really impressed
with the service you provide, and I've told everyone I know
about you (which includes about 200 Land Rover enthusiasts
on a mailing list I subscribe to) - so if you begin to get
orders from loads of bearded weirdos then you can blame me.
I've begun working on the labyrinthe ordering system for the
welder that started this whole thing off. I hereby enter you
into my official "service like it used to be" Hall
of Fame. Thanks |

I tried welding today and it works great. Item
received promptly, well wrapped and exactly as described.
Sorry for the confusion over the accessories. I have never
been able to read instructions. When I was a boy I used to
make Airfix model aircraft and never read the instructions
- so having glued it all together I found some extra pieces
left over including the pilot ! Nothing Changes.... |

I received my items this morning as promised.
What a lovely surprise to find the Mars Bar - thanks! I've
got more things to order over the coming months and with your
great service, you'll be my first place to call. Once again
thanks. |

My lathe arrived today - thank you
very much. I am most impressed with your service and I will
deal with you again in the future. It was all done very quickly
and efficiently which really did impress me. I will tell other
people about you and your prompt service. I will be in contact
again soon. |

Sarah - You have been so helpful, would I be able to order
via you for you to get some form of commission? Or at least
a well done, sometimes people do take some of their workers
for granted, trust me I know and prefer to give my order
where I have been helped and the appropriate gratitude to
be given by their company. Sorry for the verbal - but not
all people are recognised over the net as helpful they are
just thought to be machines. Many thanks
Our comment : Your thanks is good
enough, regds, Sarah

She's married recently, she's moved
10,000 miles to a new job, she designs the company websites,
she's self taught, she despatches chockky bars to the needy
and has probably adopted three orphans from Afghanistan recently.
All I do is put next doors wheelies bins out for them on a
Wednesday nite.
Compared to you I am worthless!

So this is a Scottish family buiz?
Good stuff. Rare and hard to find these days. There's plenty
of online shopping sites, EUR and US, however, almost all
of them run short of listing tec details, or they list the
wrong ones, and 99% the one-off items are not available...
some of them really deserve to be nominated for the WORST-ONLINE-WD-OF-THE-MILLENNIUM.
I did some research and found out that quite a lot of these
sites are run by IT offices only. None of these clowns are
able to stock anything, let alone keep stuff in the warehouse,
i.o. to fill up or complete the order. Next thing, they would
ship UPS only. Excuse me... Backorder stuff comes with separate
UPS quotes. What a nightmare. That's what they call Customer
Service for International Customers. Good grief. They'd ship
five taps for two hundred bucks!
What a relief you guys are!
I haven't explored your sites extensively, but so far I found
what I was after in no time. Also, the sites build up in very
little time, might have to do with the links to the UK. US
sites sometimes take forever, regardless of the modem speed.
Thanks again, Fred. |

I have viewed with anticpation and interest this new web
site and I am very pleased with the new dynamic approach.
I would like to say ,however, that in the "Common Room",
I could not access a description of a specific item - is
this a feature yet to be addressed, or do I have to resort
to viewing the item by another avenue.
I AM, however, interested in a Clarke 10" tablesaw,
grade "A", CT10......... 2 questions re this;
ie-
1: can I uplift from Hamilton as I stay nearby in Glasgow?:
and,
2: Would there be any surcharge for this ??
Thank you for your attention........I have been a previous
viewer of your site and have been waiting with baited breath
for the new site that you promised and I am pleased to say
that I am extremely impressed with the work done on the
site - I have not yet viewed its entirety - but will do
so over the next 4 days............
Yours, Joe Magill
Our comment : Glad you like the new
website Joe. I take it by your comments on The Common Room
- that this refers to the page on A-Grade stock items. Customer
comments ar every important to us.
Most of the items are in the shop
and can be searched on. However, we have taken note of this
and will see what the best way to approach it is. Meantime
- we have added pop-up pictures to all of these items -
since none of them had images. Please bear in mind that
this new site is still being built, and we aim to constantly
improve it.
In answer to your questions :
1. of course you can collect -come
in and have a coffee !
2. surcharge ? Definately not !!

Just a quick note to say its a great
web site, especially the
downloadable manuals etc. They've already proved useful with
my 2nd hand Clarke 150TE Mig. |

Just a quick thank you for the speedy
dispatch of the drills I ordered last Monday. They arrived
yesterday but I was unable to open the parcel until this lunch
time when I discovered the Mars Bar which I will enjoy immensely. |

Just letting you know the lathe
arrived safe & sound today. Hubby is delighted - it's
his birthday present!!
Many thanks for excellent service. |

I am more than satisfied with your answers and especially
the way in which have responded to the problems I have `thrown`
at you. It was not a test (although it may have felt like
one at times)
It is nice to `meet` someone who actually cares enough
to make the effort. I had a few moments of doubt back there,
but I am happy again now. This is my first `bandsaw` and
is intended for a new hobby (guitar making) in preparation
for retirement in 7 years time, so it is very important
to me to obtain the right tools. I'm sure you can understand
that.
I have forwarded a cheque first class post today, so it
should be there Tuesday 13/8/02 (tomorrow) afternoon. I
look forward to receiving the bandsaw and getting started
on my first guitar.
Many thanks again for your assistance and professionalism.
You are a credit to the company Sarah.

Thanks for the Mars bar..!
I'd like another one, so if you have a rain proof top (like
a chinese hat..?)
for the top of a standard 5'' stove pipe I'd be grateful..
Thanks again, Excellent company to deal with.
